“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

FRIENDS:
Greetings! This is the update that you were looking for. The previous one was just a foretaste. PP is very excited to share this update with you.

PP how was your visit to Pittsburgh? It was wonderful. I had a threefold cooperation. PP tell me about it. Oh yes the weather cooperates. My friends cooperate. My health cooperates. Because I was longing to see you, all the side effects have remained back in Florida. It was unbelievable. I was feeling better there than in Florida. Can you believe that?

I had the opportunity to see my ophthalmologist, Dr. Jennifer Olbum. I got a good eyes exams. Now I will be able to see my wife better. She gave me special glasses for that. Aha Aha. She gave me a lot of eye drops because I have been using them a lot.

I was almost to the point where smiling was embarrassing but Thursday last week Doctor Mike Hladio puts an end to that. There were some restrictions because my platelet count was to be watched but not anymore. I can smile now without being embarrassed. People asked me if I mind going to the dentist. I love going to the dentist. The dentist keeps my teeth healthy.
PP you are blessed. Yes he is blessed indeed.

On the plane back to Florida, I was reading my Bible and the man sitting next to me asked, “What passage are you reading? I think for a while then I said to myself if he asked this question he might be minister. Sir are you a minister? Guess what? He is a Minister and bring a message of faith to the Golfing World. An entertaining message of faith presented with humor and skill from a Golfer’s point of view. His name is Buddy Shelton. I told him that I am not a golfer. I am a gooffer but I have many friends who are golfers. I will pass it on to them. In case you like to get hold of him his email address is buddy@buddyshelton.com his phone is 407-616-5958 As a matter fact he was coming from Altoona, PA 2 hours east of Pittsburgh.

I have two appointments on Wednesday this week one at 12:30 PM Pulmonary Function Test and the other one at 3:30 PM with the Pulmonary Doctor.

It was so good to be in Pittsburgh to be with all my friends. The Haiti Summit was a great success. Dan Beck had talked about the vocational school that is to be started this Fall, Lord willing. He had the attention of all. I know without doubt that God has called him and his wife to fulfill this dream that I had since the early eighties. I know the best way to help people is to teach them a trade and create jobs for them.

Dan has been doing that every time he goes to Haiti he uses people with skills and put them to work and he supervises them as they perform the task. I like to borrow a phrase that Pastor Jeff Lyle the senior Pastor at Good News Gathering used in this context referring to Branden who went to Lacroix this year,”To see the need is to answer the call.”  Everyone was interested in what Dan had to share about this program. PP was very happy to see that finally his dream is becoming a reality. Dan asked every one to give a hand for the realization of this program. I support his petition. Dan asked for one hand I would ask for two hands. Aha Aha LOL. It’s PP again.

No doubt you know that Dan and Madel have been in Haiti since Tuesday September 25. Dan wanted to start working on the vocational building but in Haiti things don’t go as they go here in the US. Patience is number one thing Americans learn in Haiti. The work on the slab has been slow because they have to haul filling dirt and it is not easy to get especially when they have to hand shovel it. My wife is doing her best. I love this woman to death and this woman loves PP to life. Aha aha. LOL. Now you see why I was not ready to die.

Me Altenor is having meeting with the students and parents to promote the trade school. He told me that he is working on finding teachers. He visited the Catholic Nuns Professional School as well as the Government Professional school in Gonaives. Both schools say that they know some good graduates  they can recommend him if need be. I am glad to hear that.

PP now that you are back to Florida how do you feel? PP is doing well.
Things are going well back in Haiti. School is going well. The number of children increase. Hopefully I will be able to send you pictures. You know that is my job to keep you posted. You are so good to me and too good to me. I know some of you are going to Haiti I am sending pictures especially for those of you can’t go. Remember don’t feel bad if you cannot go. Just let your money go for you as you have been doing.

It’s been raining too. I am very glad for that. I thank the Lord.  Every thing is working good.
Thank you very much for all that you are doing for the ministry. Thank you for loving the children so much. Thank you for all that you are doing for them.
I can never thank you enough for your generosity.  Brad Lomenick once said, ” Generosity means service and focusing on others. Generosity turns me into we.”
